ABOUT OUR FOUNDERS

Thomas Clem is a US Chess certified tournament director and chess coach. He believes “Chess helps to facilitate the exchange of knowledge.” Through his love of Christ, Thomas sees chess as his ministry to empower and uplift his community.

Tonya Clem, the co-founder of Metro Atlanta Chess Partners, holds a Master’s Degree in Teaching and is a certified US Chess tournament director who firmly believes that playing chess will empower children throughout their lives.

In 2020 Metro Atlanta Chess Partners was honored with a senate resolution for our extensive and dedicated work in the SOUTHWEST side of atlanta, georgia since the year of 2015.
