    Thomas Clem is a US Chess-certified tournament director and experienced chess coach with a deep passion for the game. He believes that “chess facilitates the exchange of knowledge,” fostering growth and connection among players. Guided by his faith, Thomas views chess as a ministry—using it as a tool to empower, educate, and uplift his community.

    Tonya Clem, co-founder of Metro Atlanta Chess Partners, is a dedicated educator with a Master’s Degree in Teaching and certification as a US Chess tournament director. She is passionate about the transformative power of chess and believes that learning the game equips children with critical thinking, resilience, and confidence—skills that will empower them for a lifetime.

  • Pamela Clem

    Pamela Clem is our dedicated youth chess coach. She has been playing chess for 14 years and has been playing rated chess tournaments for 11 years. I’ve worked in USCF rated tournaments as a floor tournament director.

    With a passion for mentoring young players, she helps students develop strategic thinking, discipline, and confidence through the game of chess.

  • Patrinia Clem

    Patrinia Clem is a dedicated chess coach with nine years of experience, specializing in teaching young learners ages 3 to 5. She creates a fun and supportive environment, helping children build early problem-solving skills, focus, and a love for the game from an early age.

  • Nick Sadeghi

    Nick Sadeghi, a member of Emory University's Class of ‘26, serves as the president of the university's Chess Club, where he is dedicated to empowering youth and adults through the game of chess. With years of experience, he is passionate about using chess as a tool to inspire and motivate children to develop confidence, discipline, and strategic thinking as they work toward their goals.
